Discord Invite Not Working?

Fix expired or invalid Discord invites, check server limits and identify settings that stop new members joining.

Updated 2 min read

Start with the error message

Unknown or expired
Ask a server admin for a new invite.
Invalid invite
Copy the whole link and keep the code’s capitalization. Invite codes are case-sensitive.
Too many servers
The usual limit is 100 servers, or 200 with Nitro. Leave enough servers to get below your current limit.
Banned from the server
Ask a server admin to review the ban. A fresh invite does not remove it.

If you manage the server

  1. Open Server Settings → Invites. Check that invites are not paused and the link still exists.
  2. Create a replacement invite. Review expiration and maximum uses. Non-expiring invites are available for Community servers.
  3. For Boost delivery, check join settings and security bots before submitting the replacement.

Custom invite still fails?

For a custom discord.gg/yourname link, also check that the server still has the perk and at least one text channel visible to @everyone.

Still cannot join?

Send the server admin the exact error text and ask them to test a fresh invite. For a Yaman Boost order, send support the replacement link with your existing order ID.
