Check account credit first
Open User Settings → Subscriptions on desktop or browser. A gift claimed during an active subscription, or for a different plan, may appear as account credit.
Activate matching credit
Subscriptions → Matching plan → Apply credit
- Once the existing subscription ends or is removed, select a subscription matching the credit’s type and duration.
- Check that the checkout shows credit applied before confirming. Discord may request payment details; review the renewal terms.
Example: monthly Nitro credit needs a monthly Nitro subscription. It will not apply to yearly Nitro or Nitro Basic.
Other gift problems
- Bought through mobile
- Gift credit cannot pay for App Store or Google Play subscriptions. Use Discord desktop or browser.
- Already claimed
- A gift is redeemable once. Check Subscriptions on the account that accepted it.
- Wrong account
- Discord cannot transfer a claimed gift or issue a replacement code.
