What is a Discord vanity URL?
A vanity URL — Discord calls it a Custom Invite Link — replaces a random invite like discord.gg/a8Kx2Pq with one you choose, like discord.gg/yourname. It doesn't expire, has no use limit, and is easy to put on a profile, stream overlay or business card.
What you need
- Server boost Level 3 — that's 14 boosts assigned to your server level. (Partnered and Verified servers can also use one.)
- Permission to manage the server — the owner or someone with the Manage Server permission.
- A text channel visible to @everyone, so people who join through the link can see something.
Boosts assigned to additional perks such as Server Tags don't count toward Level 3 — keep 14 on the level itself.
How to set your vanity URL
- Reach Level 3. Check your progress in Server Boost from the server menu. You need 14 boosts on the level.
- Open Server Settings. Click your server name → Server Settings.
- Go to Boost Perks → Custom Invite Link. (On some versions it's listed as Vanity URL.)
- Type the name you want. Use letters, numbers and dashes. Discord tells you right away if it's taken.
- Save. Your server is now reachable at
discord.gg/yourname— share away.

Choosing a good name
- Keep it short and easy to say out loud.
- Match your brand or channel name so people can guess it.
- Avoid names that copy another brand or person — Discord can reclaim links that impersonate or break its rules.

How to keep your vanity URL
The link belongs to your server only while it stays at Level 3. If boosts drop below 14:
- Level perks switch off after a 72-hour grace period.
- You can restore Level 3 for up to 30 days to protect your existing link.
- After that window, the name may become available to other servers.
